The Washington Post describes the brilliant musician Emanuel Ax as "an extremely satisfying pianist… always thoughtful, lyrical, lustrous." Ax returns for Mozart's engaging Piano Concerto No. 22 in E-flat major. Renowned violinist Nikolaj Znaider makes his PSO conducting debut with music from Wagner's exquisite love story of Tristan und Isolde. Be amused by Elgar's Enigma Variations, a mystery on many levels with its elusive melody that has had audiences guessing for years and the supposed hidden message to a secret lover. Each movement of this celebrated orchestral work portrays a personal friend of Elgar's.
