Manfred Honeck closes the season with two momentous works. The PSO's Gorton family (James, Gretchen and daughter Heidi) come together to perform an imaginative Concert Piece by Goossens. Honeck continues the PSO's Mahler Cycle with Mahler's immensely moving and provocative masterpiece–the Sixth Symphony. Last performed with the PSO ten years ago, this "Tragic" Symphony is an epic work that will leave you in awe of the sheer musical power manifested by your Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
