Highmark Holiday Pops is a Pittsburgh holiday tradition!
Celebrate the season with favorite carols and holiday music, including Sleigh Ride and Hallelujah from Handel’s Messiah, as well as special surprises brought to you by Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch. Jodi Benson, the voice of Disney’s Ariel, joins the merriment with a heart-warming performance of “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid, as well as your holiday favorites, like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Plus, superstar vocalist Gary Mauer, who starred in Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera, takes the stage to treat you with festive classics, including a duet with Ms. Benson singing Baby It's Cold Outside. And, as always, do not forget to take in Heinz Hall’s ornate decorations, complete with a 25-foot tall tree featured in the Grand Lobby!
Just announced! Marvin also welcomes special guest Ricky Manning, a detective with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office with 13 years of service. Ricky’s path has taken him to a career in civil service, but his first inspiration was music. When he is not pursuing fugitives, he continues to vehemently pursue his musical interests. Ricky sings a wide variety of music from rock and folk to classical and Celtic styles, and he performs regularly at a multitude of venues throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. Ricky dedicates his performance to the memory of fallen Police Officers whose families can only be with them in spirit during this holiday season.
